When Nobody Else Noticed — Saffie and Celli Did
There is a man in our neighborhood named Mr. Henderson. He wears a U.S. Army cap, walks with his hands in his pockets, and keeps his eyes on the ground. He does not wave back. He does not stop to chat. And most people have stopped trying.
But Saffie and Celli are not most people.
They noticed him from across the street one afternoon — that quiet, heavy way he moved through a world that felt too loud and too close. And without a word from anyone, they simply followed him. Not loudly. Not intrusively. Just persistently. The way love does when it is real.
When Mr. Henderson finally sat down — alone on that bench, families playing all around him, a world in full color he could not quite touch — Saffie sat on one side and Celli pressed in on the other. No agenda. No performance. Just presence.
And slowly, that tight jaw softened. Those heavy shoulders dropped just a little. And a smile — small and real and hard-won — broke through.
That is what the Paws of Persistence are about. Not grand gestures. Not perfect words. Just showing up. Sitting down. Refusing to walk away.
To every veteran carrying weight the world cannot see — we see you. God sees you. And sometimes He sends His love on four paws. 🐾❤️
